McMaster University

In 1986, McMaster University Continuing Medical Education sponsored a pilot project on practice-based small group learning for family and general practitioners in the Hamilton area. This led to the establishment in 1992 of the PBSG Learning Program (PBSG).

At present, McMaster University and The Foundation for Medical Practice Education maintain a close academic collaboration in educational development, research and evaluation. Both organizations look forward to new possibilities to collaborate around innovations that will enhance education for different levels of learners and facilitate the application of new knowledge into practice.

Education Services is the administrative unit that oversees the education programs within the Faculty of Health Sciences. They currently provide staff, central support and resources to the Practice Based Learning Programs.
