FMPE on the Move: Driving Education and Engagement

Dalhousie University’s Family Medicine Resident Education Weekend

In September, the FMPE residency team participated in Dalhousie University’s Family Medicine Resident Education Weekend, an event dedicated to fostering collaboration and enhancing resident training.

Residents and site directors engaged with FMPE staff, providing feedback on the module’s educational impact and learning about upcoming features designed to enrich the residency experience.

The event also allowed us to offer insight into the Resident Scholarship Award, highlighting opportunities for residents to advance their scholarly pursuits.

Canadian Physician Assistant Annual Conference

Recently, two of our Directors, Dr. Melissa Vyvey and Dr. Peter Tzakas attended a conference in Ottawa running one of FMPE’s modules, “Rashes Not To Miss.” It went well, with many thoughtful questions about our program. Thanks again to all who made it out to attend.

The event was the Canadian Physician Assistant Annual Conference. The conference attracts Canadian and international PAs who are looking for high-calibre continuing professional development opportunities, the chance to learn from national and international experts, and opportunities to network and share expertise.

University of Ottawa Job Fair

Our Dr. Melissa Vyvey recently attended a job fair for all first- and second-year family medicine residents at the University of Ottawa. It was an excellent opportunity to talk to residents about how to use our modules to study for exams, apply for FMPE’s scholarship award, and join the PBLP after residency.
