University of Toronto’s Nurse Practitioner Program joins Residency PBLP

In this edition, we are pleased to spotlight the University of Toronto’s Nurse Practitioner Program which has joined Residency PBLP in integrating our FMPE modules into its curriculum. Trainees now engage with these modules in a facilitated small‑group format, working through real-world challenges commonly encountered by primary care clinicians across Canada.

The University of Toronto’s Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing offers one of the country’s leading NP programs, preparing registered nurses for advanced practice through a rigorous, evidence‑informed curriculum that leads to independent Nurse Practitioner certification.

The Master of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner Program (MN-NP) program prepares learners to provide comprehensive, person-centered care across the lifespan. Through a program delivered primarily online over two-years, learners develop advanced clinical competencies in treating illness, health promotion, and disease prevention, while exploring health equity and global health issues. Graduates are equipped to work autonomously within ethical and legal standards.

The Post-master’s Nurse Practitioner Diploma (PMNP) Program is designed for nurses who have completed a master’s degree in nursing and would like to pursue an exciting career as a nurse practitioner. This is a part-time two-year program offered mostly online, where learners develop advanced clinical competencies in treating illness, health promotion, and disease prevention, while exploring health equity and global health issues. Graduates are equipped to work autonomously within ethical and legal standards.

Candidates can apply by the April 30, 2026 deadline for the Sept 2026 intake.

The NP curriculum at Bloomberg Nursing has recently strengthened its educational model by embedding the FMPE modules directly into the learning experience across several courses. This enhancement ensures that learners remain current with best practices and clinical guidelines, promoting meaningful practice change and reinforcing the program’s emphasis on lifelong learning.

By strategically incorporating FMPE modules,  Bloomberg Nursing’s NP programs at the University of Toronto, continue to graduate highly skilled, autonomous practitioners equipped not only with advanced clinical expertise but also with the adaptability and continuous‑learning mindset needed to thrive in an evolving healthcare landscape.
