What are some common things that our members want to change about their practice?
We reviewed a sample of “commitment to change” statements that have been submitted to us on practice reflection tools after members complete a module.
The table below shows the two most common practice changes made by our members for the “Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia” module:
| Practice Change Tip | Enablers |
|---|---|
| Use the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) for patients presenting with lower urinary tract symptoms, and also to monitor symptoms over time | • Add the IPSS to the EMR • Email the IPSS to patients ahead of their appointment |
| Order PSA for screening with shared decision making and to monitor treatment with 5-ARIs | • Add the talking tips from the module to an assessment stamp • Create reminders in the EMR to recheck PSA |
The full module is available on Members Online or you can follow this quick link to access a page with the noted resources.
